A hint of nostalgia
It is easy to see why Louise’s designs are so successful: there is a personal quality to them and a hint of nostalgia which comes through in her choice of colour and subject. Her wallpaper entitled Harry’s Garden, depicting blue tits, bird cages and blossom was named after her 86 year old artist friend.

This, along with some of the other bird and floral designs, have the feel of a vintage hand tinted postcard, and in fact the wallpapers are finished by hand in a similar way, with the colour on the birds being added after the printing process. Other designs are based on plant forms and one is based on Marney lace, given to her by her grandmother.
Louise combines drawing, painting and photographic imagery to produce these delicate and beautiful designs, which are part of a range including wallpaper, cushions and fabric.

She recycles where she can, with the reverse of her cushions being made with vintage fabrics, and the trimmings from her wallpapers collected and recycled at a local mill. If you would like to see more of her work or purchase something from her range, please see www.louisebodywallprint.com
